Within the Accounting Ledgers, you can view and add your accounting categories into Buddy. These categories then can be used within the Journals page to allocate the correct category to each cost.
Adding Accounting Ledgers (Categories)
In the accounting page:
- Go to the Ledgers tab
- Click the +Add button
- Insert the details of the Ledger Category
Each ledger requires the following details:
- Code
Insert the code of the ledger that is set in your accounting software. - Name
Give a recognisable name to each ledger - Type
Choose whether the ledger is an expense or liability. This is important for items to be allocated between a credit or debit transaction in reports and exports

Integration
A quick way to import accounting categories (and cost centres) is to connect an integration and click Import & Sync from the Integrations page.
