Every second update, our team focuses on resolving difficulties and enhancing the experience. In this update, our team brings several QoL changes with this effect. Here are some of the highlights of this update:
- Improvements to salary updates after already drafting payrolls
- Updates to Holiday Pay's presentation within payslip and payroll reports
- Resolved an issue preventing users from Uploading Pay Items in bulk
- Updates to the Grades User Interface
- Added functionality to Workforce integration

Release Notes
Payroll Changes
The bulk of this update changes are improvements and fixes to Payroll Changes. Although most changes are minor, we aim to make the payroll experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
- Update: When updating salary mid-payroll, users will no longer need to clear payslips and re-input items like base hours or overtime hours. Upon re-saving, Buddy will now immediately recalculate the same inputs under the new salary details.
- Fix: Unpaid leave will no longer reduce the pro-rata amount of allowances if they are toggled as Fixed Allowance.
- Update: The number of hours on Holiday Pay is now listed in the payslip
- Fix: When changing the first pay-period details, if draft payslips exist, Buddy will clear all data linked to these payslips (such as pension contributions)
- Fix: Resolved an issue preventing the Upload Pay Items feature from being used.
- Fix: Resolved a notification issue related to auto-enrolment when an employee has both future pensions and salaries set. Now Buddy will only check data based on the payroll being opened to prevent unnecessary notifications.
- Fix: Resolved an issue where sick leave that only had Waiting Days would prevent payslip from saving
EPS & Tax Forms
Based on user-specific reports, our team has resolved two issues preventing EPS submissions in particular instances.
- Fix: Resolved an error when submitting FPS if no employment allowance was saved. Now companies not claiming allowance will not need to toggle this option on and off before submitting EPS.
- Fix: Resolved an issue where Tax Forms were not accessible on Safari due to date format
Reports
We've introduced some minor changes to existing reports and page to improve the accuracy and experience.
- Fix: Holiday Pay will now be listed in the Leave section for newly generated Payroll Reports (.pdf version).
- Update: The Payroll Report (.xlsx version)'s status column has been updated to include 'delivered' status. This is currently in beta with a select client before further roll-out.
- Update: The pay period filter in the Report Page is now sorted numerically for easier selection
Grades
- Update: Updated the UI of Grades so that allowance with longer names become fully visible
- Update: Removed defaults from Grade UI that were preventing new grades from being saved
Integrations
Workforce Integration
Functionality for Workforce integration has been added, including notifications for disconnected tokens, and added flexibility for importing rounded timesheets.
- New: Added a notification for when a Workforce integration token is expired and needs reconnecting
- New: Users can now choose to enforce the rounding and break rules past 24 hours when importing timesheets. Please note that this requires more data and time, so it's suggested to only be used for shorter date periods or when filtering a single employee.
- Fix: Restored functionality to update integration settings from the User Interface.
- Fix: When connecting new employees, you can now filter team at the same step without having to first connect and then filter.
BambooHR Integration
- Fix: Resolved an issue that was preventing employees from being unlinked
Other Changes
Below are other minor changes and improvements that don't fit into larger sections.
- Update: The input for Tax Codes and NI Numbers is now auto-capitalised. This will standardise the data inputs and reduce number of errors when submitting to HMRC
- Update: The Getting Started page will no longer require Industry to be inputted.
- Update: Users with owner permissions can now utilise the Revoke Access feature to remove access from other users.
- Fix: Resolved an issue where a second employee account was created if the invite was sent through payslips whilst the employee previously held an account in a previous agreement/organisation.
- Update: Bank details will automatically remove any white spaces upon input
- Update: Added some text to clarify that the Company Bank Details are used for generation of BACS files or payment integrations.
- Fix: Resolved an issue where T&A Settings were not accessible in some plans.
- Update: For companies that don't have any custom Overtime or Special rates set up, the Add Rate button will no longer be selectable.
