Government Bonuses
The government bonuses are referred to as "Weekly Allowance" and "Statutory Bonus", and these are paid proportionately, based on the month of pay.
Weekly Allowance
The Weekly Allowance allowance is paid at the end of March or September, and covers a period of the previous six months. The amount paid is up to a maximum of €121.16, but a proportion thereof may be paid.
Statutory Bonus
The Statutory Bonus is, on the other hand, payable to the employee in June and December, and also covers a period of the previous six months. The bonus can reach up to €135.10, but a proportion thereof may be paid.
A proportionate amount of both bonuses is due upon termination. For information about the bonuses, you can check out the official DIER page on Bonus and Weekly Allowance.
