While our team continues to review open tickets regarding feedback and difficulties, we have introduced new tools to help bring more flexibility and control to our customers.
Negative Balance Thresholds
Within the Leave Settings, you will find a Negative Balance Thresholds.
You can configure how much negative balance you are willing to allow for any type of leave. This will prevent Buddy from automating leave to unpaid when the threshold is not exceeded
You can also configure this at an employee level, by clicking leave settings in the employee's profile's leave tab.
Leave Application Override
When adding a leave application, buddy auto-calculators the type of payment based on balances.
Now this can be overridden by clicking the sticker (e.g. U for Unpaid).
This will open up a menu as below:
- Tick one of the left icon to set which value auto-adjusts (e.g. in the above, Unpaid is set to Auto-Adjust. This will therefore change based on the input you select in the full pay) section.
- Input the hours you want to override.
If you input less hours than the full-day, the remainder will be auto-added to the auto-adjusted type
- Click Apply Changes.
This will Lock the leave payment breakdown.
Leave Entitlement Breakdown Transparency
In the Leave Balances page, hovering over the entitlements or balances amounts will now give you a detailed breakdown of the calculation
Leave Dates & Calculation Transparency in Payroll
In Payroll, when there is pay related to leave, you can hover over the calculator to see:
- Date Period
- Hourly Rate
- Payment Calculation
Marking Leave as Paid (processed) or Unpaid (unprocessed)
When to use?
The Mark Leave button allows you to process leave as either processed or non-processed. This can be useful:
- When adding backdated leave
- When leave of previous months is showing in other payrolls
- Leave was marked as processed as not appearing in the expected payslip
- Edit leave that is already processed as paid
Please note that if you override this, the number of hours in the total earnings sections within payslips may not match the total in the leave applications.
How to use Mark Leave?
Before using this tool, make sure to edit the current payslip you're working on for the best effect.
In the Leave Management page, you will see a Mark Leave button.
When you click this, you will see options to select:
- Date Range
- Employee (all, or specific employee)
- Mark as Paid or Unpaid
After selecting these, click Mark to confirm
Once this is processed, you will see a list of which days of leave have been processed. Click Continue if you would like to perform additional actions
