Custom Notes
There are many reasons why an employer or payroll administrator would want to add a custom note to a payslip.
How to Add a Custom Payslip Note
- During the Run Payroll page, when viewing details for an employee, click Add Note under the pay items.
- This will open a comment box in which you can write a Custom Payslip Note. You are free to write whatever, as shown in the below screenshot.
- Calculate & Save the payslip so that the note is saved alongside all other payslip details.
Item-Specific Payslip Notes
Payslip Notes can also be added on payslips which include a specific pay item.
These conditions can be added:
- At the bottom of Run Payroll if they apply for that specific period
- From Settings > Payroll > Settings if they apply for multiple periods
Once you click Add New Note, you can choose the text and for which pay item (pay elements) the payslip will appear.
Any payslip with that pay item will automatically include the note.How the Note Appears in Payslip
When viewing the payslip, the note will be visible just above the Take-Home Pay, as seen in the below example:
