Release Summary
It's not like the Pin the Donkey game, but get ready to pin Geo Locations! In this release, you will find features related to Work Location settings, including Geo-location pinning and Default Locations. These will be game-changing features to your team's day-to-day tracking of timesheets!
User feedback has influenced most of the remaining quality-of-life changes, such as the ability to add comments to timesheets or restrict pay dates. These changes will facilitate your workflow and minimise user mistakes. Get up to date by reading the full release notes found below.
Release Notes
Payroll
Our team introduced additional restrictions based on user feedback to minimise user mistakes and increase outcome consistency.
- Update: PayDate is now restricted and cannot be set before the pay date of the previous payroll.
- Update: The "Pay Terminated Employee" option, which creates an extra payslip, will no longer show employees terminated in that pay period. As this feature is intended only for extra payslips, this should remove any confusion and only be utilised for employees terminated in previous payrolls.
- Hotfix: Updated the tax calculation for custom pay periods with offsets
- Hotfix: Updated the SSC calculation for employees whose data migrated or imported to Buddy with the pays minimum 10% setting and were on a reduced category B rate.
Settings
Work Locations can now be set as default locations and include GeoLocations. This will be utilised in certain circumstances for employee app punch-ins. Our team also tweaked the user experience in other setting pages to improve workflow.
- New: Users can set Geo Location pins for Work Locations, which the Buddy Employee app uses when inserting timesheets.
- New: When setting up Work Locations, a default location is required for when the punches occur outside the available GPS locations. We suggest setting a default location such as "Work from Home" or "Out of Bounds".
- Update: Improved visibility of the Save button on multiple pages, such as the Payroll Settings
- Fix: All invited users can now be selectable as managers in the department settings.
- Update: Any allowance added in Payroll Settings will no longer show as an option in the Run Payroll until the Payroll Settings page is saved. This should encourage more users to use the Save button before performing payroll.
- Update: Users will be redirected to the Settings page to facilitate the workflow when creating a new company.
Leave Management
The pro-rata calculation was updated to improve its accuracy further. More updates were included to improve the user experience when managing leave.
- Fix: Included an update for pro-rata leave calculation which in some cases was off by 1 day
- Update: Leave applications can now be deleted or cancelled when two applications are applied/imported on the same day.
- Update: The Leave Balance page's headers will now continue to appear even when scrolling down. This will make it easier to understand the values for the respective columns when viewing balances for employees further down the list.
Other
- Fix: The Salary Details will now accurately show empty weekday check-boxes if the employee has no weekdays set.
- New: Timesheets can now have comments added to them. The employee can add this comment when adding a timesheet, but the admin users can also edit it.
- New: Added a new 2FA verification required for all users accessing our Zendesk Help Centre.
