Parallel Status
After filling out the Getting Started section, you will have the option to start Parallel Runs or Go Live.
In Parallel Mode, users can start using all primary Buddy functions, including payroll.
Performing Parallel Runs
In parallel mode, the Run Payroll process will allow you to import an original payroll report.
Upload Payroll Comparison File
In the Run Payroll page, click the upload option and select your comparison file
When uploading this report, then map the fields to Buddy values.
- Map employee identifier (such as ID Card) to Employee
- Map pay items to Buddy values, such as
- Basic Pay
- Gross Pay
- SSC
- Tax
- other Pay Items
After all data has been mapped, click Save Mapping.
Comparison Match Summary
Buddy will perform a match and present a summary as soon as you click Save Mapping. The first time, you should find no matches as payslips have not yet been calculated.
As you start saving payslips (see Run Payroll Process), payslips will either:
- Save without warning
- Present a warning, highlighting discrepancy in items
Discrepancies may be caused due to different reasons such as:
- Incorrect calculations within the original payroll
- Incorrect mapping or incomplete data imported
- Changes in payroll processes where discrepancies are expected (e.g. improvement in payroll process)
This is the perfect time to review and assess if you need to update any data. Once you are satisfied with the parallel status, you can then conclude the run.
Going Live from Parallel
After concluding a parallel run, you will be presented with the option to generate a new parallel run or go live.
If you are ready to take this company to live payroll, click Go Live.
Is there any functionality blocked during Parallel Runs?
No, at the moment, all live functionality is available during parallel mode.
For that reason, parallel payroll is still charged unless you have a special agreement. Although you can remain on parallel status indefinitely, we recommend going live with all features as soon as you are satisfied with the parallel runs.
