Company Leave Settings
When you go to Company Settings and click on the Leave Settings sub-section, you will find six options you can tick from. These will affect your Leave Management Section, as well as Payslips.
Auto-Pay Accrued Leave for Casual Employees
This will automatically pay any accrued vacation leave to casual part-time employees at the end of the period. This only applies for employees whose timesheets are being processed through Buddy.
Add Public Holidays to Leave Balance
If your employees may work during Public Holidays, a common practice is to add Public Holidays to the leave balance. For example, for a full-time employee working 40 hours per week, this would increase the entitlement to 304 hours (24 standard vacation leave + 14 days of public holiday).
This option only works for employees who do not have set working days.
Moreover, when enabled, leave applications will no longer automatically skip public holidays. Therefore, users would be able to add vacation leave on days of Public Holidays
Auto-Create Public Holiday Leave
For employees on fixed schedules (e.g. Monday to Friday), the Auto-Create Public Holiday Leave will add an automatic Public Holiday leave application for any holiday that is on one of their working days. Employees on a Variable Hours setting will get a pro-rata amount, based on their base hours of the previous 3 payslips.
For full-time employees without fixed schedules will instead use the company's default PH hours for all public holidays, unless the last option is also enabled (see below).
Calculate leave balances on a pro-rata basis*
This option is to calculate vacation leave balances (for fixed-hours employees) on a pro-rata basis. Therefore, their leave balance will increase for each day worked, and they would not have all the year's entitlement available in January.
Exclude Leave Balance from Payslip*
This will exclude leave balances from appearing in the payslip.
Do Not Auto Add Public Holiday Leave for Worked Days
This option, when enabled, will not auto-create public holidays (from the 3rd option) if the employee has a timesheet or another leave entry on the day of the Public Holiday.
If disabled, Buddy will create a public holiday leave entry, over and above the hours already in the timesheet or leave.
Leave Application Restrictions
Leave Lock Dates
The Leave Lock Date and Future Leave Lock Date are dates to lock any further leave applications before the Lock Date or after the Future Date. This means that any leave to be booked outside this range would have to be added by those who have access to the Payroll Account but not by employees or Department Managers.

*Conferment of Payslip
Based on the Legal Notice of Conferment of Payslip, it is recommended that the vacation leave is shown fully (not on a pro-rata basis) in the payslips. Hence, we recommend that these two options of calculating leave pro-rata or excluding leave balances from payslips are not enabled.
Only do so at your responsibility should you be providing this information yourself (e.g. writing it on the payslip)
