Choosing the right subscription plan will depend on the features you want to make use of. In this article, we'll provide information to help you select the right plan for you.
Which plan is best for my company?
Starter: For Outsourced Payroll
The Starter plan is right for you if:
- you outsource your payroll to an accountant/payroll bureau and want to make use of the Employee App to manage vacation leave
- or if your accountant/bureau uses Buddy and you want direct access to the same account
Business: For Simple Payroll and Standard Reporting
The Business Plan is right for you if need:
- a payroll that is locally compliant
- a payroll that integrates with third-party software to:
- issue direct payments
- sync employee details
- sync leave details
- journaling financial data
- tax forms that can be submitted directly to the CFR with FSSXpress™
- industry-specific leave entitlement based on Wage Regulation Orders
Seriously Accurate: For Advanced Payroll with Timesheet Integrations
The Seriously Accurate Plan is right for you if you need:
- timesheet-integrated payroll with AccuPay™
- advanced timesheet integrations with Deputy and Workforce
- direct timesheet sync from a cloud-based punch-clock
- paper conversion into timesheets with TimesheetPic™ (Optical Character Recognition)
Our company wants to make use of timesheets. Can we still choose the Business Plan?
Yes, you would still have the ability to add timesheets to Buddy when using the Business Plan.
That said, you will not have access to AccuPay™, which would process timesheets into overtime and allowances based on pre-set rules.
This feature would not only save your team a lot of time, but it will provide compliant options that are complex. These include:
- Auto-Creation of Public Holiday that are:
- calculated on the employee's timesheets
- automatically excluded during periods of unpaid leave
- Auto-Pay of Accrued Leave for part-time employees
- Advanced Leave management:
- Added time off in lieu (TOIL) for Public Holidays during Maternity Leave

We are a payroll bureau that provides different services to clients. Do we have to choose the same plan for all companies?
No, each company can use different plans. Our team can offer plan packages for larger providers, so if you are interested, contact our team via Submit a Request.
Can I start with the Business plan and upgrade later?
If you are unsure, you can start with the business plan. Upgrading your plans is simple and can be done anytime, as instructed in the answer below.
How do I upgrade the subscription plan?
Any user that has permissions to edit the Billing page can upgrade the plan. To do so,
- Go to the Billing page
- Click on Upgrade Plan
- Switch to the desired plan
How do I Stop Our Buddy Subscription?
By default, companies will be considered active users of Buddy unless they opt out of the subscription.
If you no longer want to make user of Buddy, you can Archive your account, while retaining access to reports: Archiving a Company or Account
Should you change your mind, you can unarchive the account and re-activate your subscription.
Account Suspension
Your account may be automatically suspended if your company has failed to settle overdue payments across multiple attempts.
In such cases, you can re-activate your account by paying any due fees. Check our more information on Account Suspension
