Timesheet and Rounding Settings for Workforce Integration

Once you have integrated Workforce with Buddy, you can enable options related to timesheets and their rounding.

Costing Method

You can select which rule engine you want to use in the Costing Method drop-down. If you select Buddy, you can set the Time and Attendance Rules in the Settings menu.

If you have selected Workforce, then Buddy will use the overtime and allowances as calculated by Workforce Awards. This requires you to Map Workforce Awards into Buddy.

Note that for the Workforce Costing Method, the employee's salary profile on Buddy needs to match the same rates as on Workforce. If there is an inconsistency in pay rates, these may not be calculated.

Rounding Options

Buddy provides additional rounding options that are not provided within Workforce.

In this section, you can select the number of minutes you want to round if:

  • employee arrives early
  • employee arrives late
  • employee leaves early
  • employee arrives late

For a rounding to apply, the employee needs to have a rostered shift on Workforce.

Once set, Buddy continues to actively sync and import timesheets every day, with a daily sync occurring at around 01:00am GMT.

When Buddy receives the data from Workforce, if the timesheet has ended within the last 24 hours, Buddy will correct the rounding and update the Workforce entry.

Older timesheets will not be rounded to minimise the impact on already approved leave and issued reports. Because of that, it's important to add employees to Buddy as soon as they are added to Workforce, to ensure that their rounding options start applying right away.

Timesheet Settings

There are currently two timesheet settings:

  • Set Break After Midnight: 
    • If the timesheets are overnight, if you have this enabled, the default breaks will be automatically assigned to be after midnight. This will also update the data on Workforce.
  • Split Timesheets at Midnight (Beta)
    • This option is currently in Beta and activating it does not change anything.
      In the future, this will be used so that overnight timesheets are split in two when imported into Buddy.
