Within the Tax Details of the employee, you should fill in the details as following:
-
Social Security Status*:
Only select one of the available options from the drop-down menu, if applicable, if employee is on normal rates, leave empty. These affect SSC and MFC calculation. If you need more guidance, check out our Table of Employment Statuses.
-
Tax Rate*:
Select the applicable Tax Rate* from the available rates.
If the employee would like to pay tax at a specific amount (e.g. 14%) or at a flat amount (e.g. €72 monthly), then select Other and input the desired percentage or amount.
-
Employee Pays Minimum (10%) National Insurance: This option is applicable only when the SSC is calculated as Category B. Instead of paying the default amount per week, the employee can choose to pay only 10% of their weekly wage. This does not affect the employer's contribution.
-
Sick Benefit Rate*:
Choose whether the employee's sick benefit should be calculated at Single or Married Rates.
*Please note that the employment status and preferred tax band should be chosen by the employee when they submit the FS4 form. Should your employee have questions on which tax band to select, it is best to direct them to the Social Security Office via calling 153.
