Having departments set on Buddy is useful both to divide where employees appear in payroll and reports, as well as to determine which manager approves leave they apply for. If you have not set these yet, check out our main article on Departments and Managers.
Assigning an Employee to Department
To assign an employee to a specific Department,
- Go to People.
- Click on the employee
- Go to Role Section
- Click Assign Department as shown below
- Select a Department from the drop-down menu
(If it still needs to be created, you need to go to Settings / Departments to create it) - Click Save.
- Click on the Create New Department button
(You will then be requested to Replace or Add New Department. This does not mean that a New Department will be created, but a New Department Entry is created for the Employee.)
