Tax Forms are generally automatically calculated when you conclude payroll.
However, there may be changes done during the year, such as updating the company's principal or employee's tax numbers, for which you would be required to update the Tax Forms.
As the Tax Forms are .pdfs, they will download based on the data on when they were last generated. Hence, these Tax Forms would need to be regenerated.
How to Regenerate Tax Forms
To regenerate only the FS3s and FS7:
- Go to Tax Forms
- Select either FS3 or FS7
- Select the relevant year (see below)
- Click Regenerate Forms, as in the image below
- A warning message will show, clarifying that the FS3, FS7 and submission files will be updated and regenerated. You can either Download existing forms, or Regenerate Forms.
- After a few moments, you will receive the below notification:
- You can go ahead and download the newly generated tax forms or files.
Any form generated by Buddy will have a date on the bottom left of the page, identifying the date it was last updated. Check this date to confirm that the forms you are downloading are the latest updated ones.
Refresh Payroll Reports
Another way to update Tax Forms is from a specific payroll. This is required if you need to update an FS5.
- Go to Payroll History
- Find a payroll you want to refresh
- Go to Actions
- Click Refresh Payroll Reports
Doing so will update:
- The payroll reports and .pdfs of that pay period
- The FS5 linked to that period
- The FS3s and FS7 for that year
