At the end of the year, you are required to submit the FSS data to CFR. There are a multiple ways on how this can be done:
- Through Buddy
- CFR's online portal
- CFR's e-filing sheet
- Paper Submission (if less than 10 employees)
Updating Tax Forms before Submitting
Prior to submitting, we encourage you to Regenerate Tax Forms (FS7 and FS3s). This ensures that:
- Tax form generation uses the latest Buddy version, including any updates done recently
- Any recent changes in employee data are reflected in the first validation attempt
Submitting End-Of-Year FSS Files Through FSSXpress™ on Buddy
Users can submit through Buddy, either through a company or in bulk, for multiple companies or clients.
Single Company Submission
To submit end-of-year files for a single company from the Tax Forms Page
- Select FS7 from the drop-down
- Click Submit Using FSSXpress™
- Analyse the FS7 breakdown
- Login with E-ID
- View the Monthly Payment Breakdown
- Click Validate FS7
- View any Errors and amend any data as required
- Once you have resolved any errors, repeat the above process
- Once the Validation has passed, you can then Submit
FSSXpress™ for Advisors
If you are an Advisor, you can go into your Advisor Page and click FSSXpress™ to view, validate and submit the electronic lodgements for all your clients from a single page.
Select all the companies that you want to submit, and then click Sign In. After the log in is authenticated, you can press Validate, and if successful, you can also Submit.
Bulk Submissions for Non-Advisors
Other users who have multiple companies but are not set as advisors can still obtain this feature.
To access bulk submissions, copy the following URL into your web address bar: https://app.buddy.hr/organisation/fss-xpress
The required permission to this page are a combination of people, payroll and tax form permissions.
Downloading the Lodgement Files
If you prefer to download these to submit through the e-filing sheet or the CFR'S portal, then:
- Select FS7 from the drop-down
- Click Submit Using FSSXpress™
- Click on Lodgement Files
- Select between SS File, F3 File, or the same data in .csv format
The SS and F3 files follow the electronic guidelines issued by Malta's Office of the Commission for Revenue. This will allow you to import these into their e-filing sheet or upload them in online submission.
The .csv exports allow you to access the same data in a spreadsheet format.
